What Is a Key Grassroots Strategy?
In any grassroots campaign, it’s vital to persuade policymakers to see and understand your point of view. The best way to accomplish this is by incorporating stories and data that complement one another.
“Stories are the way to get to the heart, where the data are the way to the head,” says Rikki Amos, director, U.S. public affairs practice, at the Council.
She suggests using personal stories to get officials “engaged and really compelled” to see your perspective and then following up with hard data that “supports and proves your position in a manner that becomes really hard to argue with.”
